Taekwondo & scary experience
Jun 19th, 2008 by Jesslyn
During my long break not long ago, I have the opportunity to send and fetch Wien from school after the school re-open. I had never got the chance to see her in Taekwondo uniform since she joined the class early this year. Usually the chauffeur is my dear FIL. But last week I have the golden opportunity and I feel very excited too.
She looks great in the Taekwondo uniform. The good part is she very enjoy in her class. I have taken few video clips while she is in the training session. No wonder she is very looking forward every Wednesday.

This week I had started back to work. But I told her I will fetch her from Taewaodo class after office hour. Her class end at 6.00pm, I estimate myself will reach there by 6.10pm. I was thinking 10 min late should not be a problem and those trainers will be there too.
When I reach there at 6.10pm, I see nobody in the hall. I start panic and keep looking around. Where is my girl and where is the group? So fast they dismiss? Without thinking twice, quickly I went to guard house and ask. The guy told me 6pm sharp all gone. I called home ask MIL and she told me Wien not back home yet. Tell you, I almost cry at that time. While I call her Taekwondo’s teacher in charge, I saw a little girl with helmet with almost crying face slowly walk toward me. It’s Wien!! I feel so so happy when I saw her. When she saw me, her tears start rolling. I really feel guilty and bad at that time; I am not mean to make her feel insecure and sad. I hug her tight and kiss her. At the same time I also feel angry with her trainers and teacher in charge. How can they all just gone off like that and let the children alone there. They should wait for all the parent come and fetch all the children then only go home mah!! I will definitely talk to them in next session.
If they don’t want to wait also can, at least ask the children whether anybody come and take them home first before they go back. To me, school is not a safe place too, after seeing so many news and incidents happen in school.
It is really a scary experience for me. 2 minutes only but it could kill me I tell you. I will not let this happen to any of my girls from now.
Anyway, I don’t think I can ever fetch her after working hour since I will always late for 10min. Her chauffeur (my FIL) is good; he will always be there before end class, either in kindy or Taekwondo class. I better let him do the job now, unless I am off from work on that day.

That’s terrible, the teachers should know better than to leave kids alone, even in a guarded area. Just keep on reassuring Wien that it won’t happen again, I hope she gets over the trauma…
poor girl…should be responsible n wait with her until you come…How can they leave her alone….
Only 10 mins and all gone including the teachers? What an irresponsible lot the teachers are!
That is terrible! How could the teachers be so irresponsible? At the very least, they should have called you up.
I can feel your panic reading the post and I have no doubt I will feel the same if it were Mei Mei. Anyway, it’s a good idea to send Wien to Taekwondo classes. These days, everywhere is unsafe, even for small kids *sigh*
aiyo…so dangerous lah…i can imagine how u feel…heart also wanna drop out oredi right.
Man! I’m fuming mad after reading this. Those teachers need to be told off. It’s just 10 mins..and it’s a child’s safety. God knows what will happen!
very irresponsible teacher ler!! go “shoot” then kao kao!!!
if me, i will panic too!!
yes! give them ur taekwando kick…if u were, i would be crying there already!
It’s good dat Wien enjoys her taekwando lessons.
HUH???!!! 10 mins. late and all the teachers just gone off like dat leaving poor Wien behind alone. *tsk tsk tsk* How irresponsible of them! At least any one of the teachers should ask Wien to call mummy to check whether u will be late or not. I really can imagine how panicky u were and how scared Wien was. Really must go and complain to the teacher and the trainers.
I guess u better leave the fetching of Wien to ur FIL, safer dat way.
oh dear… she must have been terrified. the taekwondo teachers should also be responsible for younger kids… and make sure all kids are with their parents end of the class though. you never know if someone else comes in anytime and take the kids away..
Poor Wien. Maybe you should get the teacher’s contact. If you are late, you can contact her/him.
oh dear, what an irresponsible teacher. Anything could happen in a split second. Glad to know that everything is all right.
Poor girl, she must hv been terrified being left alone there. Hope u’ve given the trainers a piece of ur mind.
