She likes to scratch!!!!
Aug 8th, 2008 by Jesslyn
I don’t know how to stop her from scratching. I so tempted to tie her both hands sometimes. Each time during bathing time, I will check her body thoroughly, to look for new scratches sign. You may think I am crazy..hahaha…but this girl of mine more crazy.

She just loves to scratch and scratch till bleeding MOST of the time. Lots of scars (new and old) can see at her legs, hands & all over her body. Arghhhh…I am so GERAM!
She cannot stand any itchiness at her skin.
We had told her MANY times not to scratch but she just seems could not listen to us. I had bought many types of scream from pharmacy or clinic, just for her to apply each time I found the bleeding scratches. Of course I am very angry when I spotted the new scratches signs. She already 6 years old yet still not bothers to listen to us. It is not surprise to see many scars at her body now.
Lyon is vain pot. Previously she will scratch like her sister too. But after I told her that no prince will like/love princess that have scars, then she stop scratching. So now she has flawless skin, so far.
By the way, what is the best cream to apply for scar like this? If you have better cream, do suggest to me. Thanks!
P/s: My hub said no point buy good cream for her, must educate her NOT to scratch. I also know this fact, but tell me how lar? I had told her till my saliva almost dry up lor!! *Sigh*

try Drapolean
I thought drapolean for rashes only?
you are not alone. My JS also like that, we have nagged, scolded, the soft approach, the hard approach , all to no avail. Her legs is even worst than what you shown on pic.
People said used sebamed , so it neutralized the skin and mozzie won’t bite, others said use Euios. The teacher suggested use Hazeline snow and a pharmacist suggested we use hyrodiod for the scar. I cannot tell you the result yet, as my girl also cannot resist from scratching.
by the way, I read this post out loud to my girl, she just laugh. It’s EXACTLY the same situation here. Talk till saliva dried, keep saying her legs is ugly , no use. I jokingly told her that I wanted to snap her picture and post up in my blog and make a comparison to see whose legs is worst. LOL
Egghead suggested to see dermatologist, see got any allergic sign or not. I am still thinking now. *headache*
she is still young, i think the scars will fade over time..
I worry not all will fade, then result her legs has 五分一角 sign.
my boy worst than wein, everyone seen his legs will comment “aiyo, why your son’s legs like that one?” *sigh* I never apply any cream. I remember when I was young, I have the scars too. But the scars were gone when I grow up, funny.
I think u apply manyak lotion after that gua! LOL
You can try mopiko, it works for any itch. I apply on my son and told him not to touch as it is poisonous. He dare not scratch…hehehehe.
Don’t how many Mopiko tube had been used so far! FIL bought another new few days ago. After applied, warned her…but she still scratch when I was away from her….. until I scream at her!
No2 is also like that. I use hydrocortisone. It helps but sometimes I’m too lazy to apply and let him scratch and bleed!!! cos…I was thinking ‘he’s a boy no need flawless skin like a girl!!!!”.
Aiyo.. looks quite bad hor. Luckily my girl like Lyon - a vain pot.
So when she scratches, just hv to remind her abt being ugly, n she’d stop. hehehe Probably a good idea to c a specialist, in case it’s a skin condition.
I think no point telling them times and times to stop scratching..it won’t work. Just let them scratch lor until they see the blood, maybe they will stop and ask you to put cream…hahahah. As what Magictree said, use hydrocortisone, can ease the itchiness.
If the over the counter hydrocortisone doesn’t work, you may have to bring her in to see a dermatologist. Sometimes dry skin will make the skin more itchy. Try to moisturize her more often..I think the brand Aqueous is used by many moms in M’sia for eczema and extreme dry skin.
Mabbe can have a reward scheme where she gets a present if she doesn’t sractch?
Wow! That is really serious. Maybe you should try Lucas Papaw ointment. They are made from some fermented papaya thingy. Good for itchy, enzyme, bla bla. I reckon it is good. I am using one at home for mozzie bite as they don’t sting on little kids skin especially the baby.
p/s: 6y/o still scratch. My 8y/o still bite her finger nails! You say geram or not.
