Longan Tree
Jul 24th, 2007 by Jesslyn
My MIL planted a longan tree at front yard. The tree not tall at all, less than 4 feet I think. So my girls can reach the tree easily. When the longan tree is blossoming, Lyon keep eyeing on the tree, she is hoping to pluck it and play with the flowers. MIL warned her not to do so coz after a while the flowers will become longan fruit, and then she can pluck and eat.
Therefore Wien becomes the spy, MIL asked her to watch out Lyon, make sure she will not go and pluck the flowers or small fruits. Hehe…I was teasing her, Wien also cannot be trusted ler, and she might act before Lyon! Lucky both girls very behave; none of them dare to pluck it before the fruits become bigger. When I stand near to the tree, both of them thought I want to pluck the fruit, they will shout to me: Mummy, you cannot pluck the fruits ya, that are for us!

Longan fruit look so juicy hor!

The tree become bald after the fruits are mature enough. Finish eating by the girls lar!
According to the girls, the longan fruit is sweet. None of us got chance to eat them coz MIL reserved all to the kids. Plus this time not so many fruits, perhaps we have to wait for next round. Then I will be the one eat first. LOL

Wah……longan fruit look pinky and yummy. Too bad you have to wait for next fruiting season.
All the good things are pass to the kids first!

The kids patience paid off. Now after tasting the sweet fruit, they’ll nvr pluck the flowers again. And I’m sure they’ll guard the tree vy closely the next time it bears fruits.
