Don’t cry, baby!

She is panic and she cry!
Yesterday almost whole day raining. After the class dismiss, it’s still raining. So all students cannot walk to individual station to wait for their parents. The teachers assemble all the students at the hall and ask them wait there. It’s still raining, so the school was jammed with lot of cars. SIL#1’s car already enter school area but due to too many cars in front of her, so she cannot be fast too.
Wien starts panic at the hall after waiting for a while. She thought SIL would wait for her at guide house (the usual place) or other places. But it is impossible coz still raining heavily and no shield there too.
She doesn’t have any coins at that moment coz she used it to buy one exercise book. Else I am sure she will go to public phone and call one of us. She really feels panic and start crying I think.
One of her classmate’s mother (I know her) come to her and console her. Then Wien request to borrow her hp to call SIL. After SIL told her to wait a while, then only she feel relief……
This is her first experience encounter such issue, suddenly become chicken little!
At home, we tell her again to wait patiently in school, don’t follow anybody even it is heavy rain or other circumstances. Reassure her that none of us will leave her alone at school too. Also tell her, if she feels panic or cry, someone may approach you and offer to send you home. What if he/she is a bad person, then you might be kidnapped by them. Who know, right? School is not a safe place too!!
After this incident, she learned.

My neighbor’s girl also like that. That day rained heavily, I spotted my girl but couldn’t find her. (She saw me from a far though, but can’t run to me due to the rain) , when I finally saw her, she was crying, thought I would leave without her.
guess this is part of growing up. sometimes its good that the child grow through this so that they learn/understand better.
She is smart to ‘borrow’ h/p. I often remind my kids too to wait for me no matter what or tell the teacher if he’s in doubt. You know, KL traffic is very unpredictable wan!
Aiyoh, next year I will face all these primary school woes when Alycia goes to Std. 1.
Poor Wien, can’t blame her for being panicky. At least she’s smart to call ur SIL to make sure dat she’s on the way. I’ve oso taught Des to wait in/outside her class for us. For Des’s school, she’s allowed to stay in the class and there’s always a teacher around to watch over them esp. the Std 1 students.
sigh… I’m so not looking fwd to such “issues” when ah girl enters Std 1 next yr.
[…] told hubby this incident, he commented that she might be thinking of Wien’s case where Wien cannot find SIL – the chauffeur, during raining day. She worry this may happen to her too! Maybe […]
