Coloring Contest

18/11/2007 – Wien first time joining coloring contest. My main intention is to let her get more exposure for this kind of activities. Her coloring skill need to polish more often if want to win the contest. Anyway, this round of contest really gives me an eye opening experience. Lucky her kindy teacher remind me to bring along own chair and table; else she has to sit on floor do the coloring.
Let me tell you how I learn something from the contest. I noticed majority of the kids brought along more than 1 set of crayon pencil, some even has 3 sets of BIG and COMPLETE crayon pencil. I feel guilty for Wien as she only has 1 set and her set doesn’t have complete color too. I only think of to let her experience the contest environment and never think of to win any prizes though. As I walked around to other kids area, I feel more shame and guilty.

Now, look at Wien’s! I am sure you can guess my feeling at that time.
Wien told me that all of her classmate crayon set was like hers too, short and incomplete. I am not sure she is console me or what. I did not say anything, just waiting for the time to start coloring. But hubby can sensed my feeling; he told me he wants to buy new set for Wien. So he just walked out from the hall and after short while, he brought back a new crayon set for his dotted girl.
As expected, Wien did not win any prizes but it is ok for us. At least we saw and learn something now and next time I will make sure she got enough “kah chang” for her future contest.

You should get her a new complete set as a prize for Wien. The gal who sat beside Wien is selling crayon or joining coloring contest?

Good to have let Wien experienced and I’m sure she enjoyed herself with or without the complete set of crayons. So, did the girl beside Wien win?

i still remember how i feel when i was schooling last time. we always compare and compare, and it is never ending. How our poor parents suffer to get us the best

urs no tuition n with just a box of crayon can get 2nd consider “keng” already.
Some kids go for coloring contest like pro hor. The organiser sold crayons during the competition? A good way to make money.
