CNY preparation?

Yeah, CNY is approaching, what had I done so far to welcome this festive? hehe….frankly I can say I did nothing yet, let alone shopping for CNY stuff. I don’t know since when I lost the mood to celebrate this Chinese traditional festive. I treat this festive is the best time for me and hubby to rest and sleep till 10am throughout our break! 
Most of the year, I let my parent in law shop for CNY stuff. Previously they also shop a lot but now I can see them cut down lot of items, probably they know those items are not necessary a MUST buy item. When I first time celebrate this festive in this family, I am surprise they did not buy big fish or big prawn to keep in fridge ( all the year my mom will stuff these sea food until our fridge cannot accommodate other items). They just treat this as normal day. This also mean they did not prepare many type of dishes for reunion dinner too. hehe… I am lucky coz NO NEED to prepare all these job. I really have a easy life here.
Before marry, I work like hell one week before CNY. Wash this and that, clean here and there; during reunion night, cook this and that. Aiyo, so tire! Now after marry, I can shake legs and cook what ever I like ( or no need to cook also can!), the simple the best, no one will sound me too!
Oh ya, CNY also mean there will be non stop fireworks/fire cracker marathon from my other rich neighbours. We are going to suffer every night till 1-2 am, until day 9th. Haiz…..
we will have lots of food but all prepared by SILs. i’m the worst cook among them all! hehehe
suffer? treat it as a free show mah..no need to spend so much to buy them.
actually i kinda like all those clean sweep and lots of pre-CNY activities -it gets you into the mood. anyway, my family did that previously but they slow down too -since we are all married and moved out.
after i got married, i’m hardly at home during CNY … back at my parents’, my in laws etc. so no cooking and any major spring cleaning but still feel like doing some cleaning - just for the sake of it.
hey, i just got my car back (earlier than expected) and it’s time for me to run around like headless chicken getting the CNY stuff… i know, i know - i ask for it! i need to learn how to “goyang kaki” abit

Without all the preparations for CNY, seems like there’s no festive season wor. Like my in-laws, only for CNY, there’s a simple feast other than dat, whatever festive seasons, it’ll be like ‘lang ching ching’ (no celebrations at all). But I’ll cook and celebrate on my own with ‘my’ family (I’ll invite Elyss, hubby and kids) …. lagi syiok!

Lucky you no need to do anything. If I go back for CNY sure have to do lots of things helping my mum..
sad to say…I hardly prepare anything..to tired and no mood…sooo bad hor me…
eh same same..my mom used to buy big prawn big fish to keep and we wil lhave like emperor dinner on eve.. but after i got married..this side pulak do pot luck and eat like buffet. You cann eat sendiri scooop and find a place to sit la.. So different
